MEETINGS Durham Central PROBUS Club was accredited May 16, 2019. Membership meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 19, 2023 at the Whitby Marina Clubhouse, 301 Watson St. W., Whitby, ON. Meetings aim to deliver an interesting and entertaining speaker, a social time with refreshments and club business updates. Information about upcoming social events and interest groups is provided. Cost of social events is planned to break even. |
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS Special interest groups are groups within the club that provide members opportunities to participate in various activities throughout the year. They are a great way to make new friends and meet fellow members. The groups are for members only and are coordinated by volunteer members of the club. The groups vary in size, depending on the activity and meeting location. Some meet throughout the year while others are seasonal. If a group can no longer accept members due to limited meeting space, a new group can be started. Some examples of our special interest groups are:
| SOCIAL EVENTS Social events are organized by volunteers for club members and could include guests depending on the event. They are usually one-time events and participants must register and pre-pay. Events in the past have included travel, theatre, sporting events and visits to places of interest.
